[L98] Intake manifold rear coolant passage hose. Why?
This is a small skinny hose that comes out of a "T" on the top heater core hose and then goes into the intake manifold near the distributor/EGR passage area. I dunno bout yours, but on my 89, the rear coolant passages are blocked in the gaskets except for a pinhole on both sides.
What's the purpose of the little hose?
I'd like to just get a plug for the intake and a straight piece of hose from the heatercore to the H20 pump.
whaddaya think?

You better leave that little hose in place; it's the steam relief passage from the rear of the intake base into the heater hose.

FWIW, I removed it on my 89 when I installed my Miniram.. I have not had any troubles

Also promotes better coolant circulation for the Aluminum heads to help prevent warping.

Street & Performance http://www.hotrodlane.cc has the best explanation I've found about the blockoffs on the rear of the intake gaskets. Per their site, the coolant crossover from the core is to prevent hot spots at the rear of the heads. Funny, most L-98 head gasket problems are @ #7 & #8.
