Yes. :yesnod:

Wait John, you will need a 4 bolt flange cat or have to have the flange cut off the front Y. The 2 mounts differently at the cat.

And I don't think it is mandrel-bent.

You will gain more from a 2 1/2" mandrel-bent front Y.

It's already got the flange cut off, but I just want it to ditch the cats anyway. While I'm at it, I might replace the main cat with a test pipe, we'll see.

Thanks guys  :seeya :steering:

BAH! got outbid anyway. How much should I be willing to pay for one of these stock pieces?

Is it correct that the 84 and 85 have a 2.5" front Y, and the precat years 2.25"?

VetteNoob is correct. I didn't even think about the cat end of the pipe. I was thinking of the head end and any of the clearance issues. I paid a guy at an exhaust shop $20 on the side to rework the end correctly for me so it would bolt up.

I would think you should be able to find a stock y-pipe for nearly nothing. I got mine from a guy who upgraded his whole exhaust and he was grateful for me to take it away for free. :) Post a wanted in the C4 parts and see if you can come up w/ one. Good luck and yes it is a bit bigger diameter, but I didn't measure it. I just wanted the precats gone.

To fab a convenient "test pip" have the ends of the cat cut off and welded to the ends of a length of test pipe. That way it can be bolted up like a cat.
