This morning when I was leaving for work I tried to shift the Vette in reverse and realized that there was no tension and on reverse lockout. So I pushed it back and drove to work.
Now that I'm here I took the gearshift **** and reverse lockout **** off to see what the problem is. Apparently there is a little pin that engages the reverse lockout rod that broke off or disappeared.
I'm wondering can I drill out the metal piece and put something else in there until a get a new ****? Anybody had to replace one of these before?
Disregard...after more searching on the net I found something on the disassembly of the ZF trans. That pin I was referring to is actually a very small allen head set screw (tiny like 1.5 mm). Somehow it had backed out and wouldn't engage the lockout shaft. Everything is golden again :D
