I have a 1985 Coupe with a ( let's remove all the transverse spring rubber pads and spacers), lowered front end. It's a dry spring, fiberglass on metal, from one end to the other! If I buy a new spring for the front, does it come with all the spacers, pads ect.... because I don't have them and the dealer doesn't either! :cry So far I have not been able to find this extra hardware with a new spring. Mid America, Eckler's, Zip..all sell springs but I cant find spacers and spring bearings. Is there anyone who is an expert on the Corvette front end? Or do I just need to find a salvage yard somewhere? I would like the front end to be somewhat lowered, but not slammed. Help!
Look for a good used one and get all the brackets, pads, spacers that come with it.
Check the parts 4 sale section, maybe someone is switching to coilovers or other and has front spring 4 sale.
Good luck !!

Re: Slammed front end (drumboytroy)
Hey that's a releif! You mean you actually want to lower it the right way? I don't understand how some of these people can leave their spring slapping around in there with no pivot points.
You can get the wedges from Mid america for $20. I'd reccommend just getting some heavy duty rubber from an industrial supply shop and using that for the end pads and the pivot points. Get something that's about 3/8" thick, and you're front will look like mine.
Yeah I think it looks cool too....sorry but it's a photoshop edit...I was playing around to see how one would look that low......but I think it would probably drag the undercarriage around every corner and bump. :nonod: :nonod:
Hey Brutish how do you like the TransGo shift kit? Getting ready to do the same. Also the front of my car is lowered to about the same height as yours in the pic....real close.
I love the transgo...put it in when I rebuilt the tranny so it was easier when it was out of the car. Chirps in 1-2 and sometimes 2-3...pins you back in your seat. Shifts hard when your not getting on it too...so if you have someone with you and driving normally...they may think there is something wrong with your tranny. Good investment!
P.S. post some pics of your car...I would really like to see how low it is!
You can get everything you need from Vette Brakes and Products. I bought the Extreme kit and it is ride hieght adjustable and corner weight adj. I have my front slammed almost like your photochop pic, and it rides great, has all the safety of the rubber, and I can raise it about 40 minutes.
