Weight of C4s?
I'm just wondering if anyone knows the weight of a C4? I'm interested in 90/91 and 92 onwards. Just wondering what the differences are.

They are all different and keep in mind, full tank vs half tank etc, but the average is around 3300 lbs with no driver.

Here's the curb weight numbers from "The Corvette Black Book:
Year....Weight
1990....3288
1991....3288
1992....3338
Remember these numbers are approximate and depend on options.
For example my 35th launches at about 3350lbs with 1/4 tank of fuel and the spare and jack absent.

Also depends upon Coupe/Convertible, and stick/Automatic.
My Vert with hardtop (about 70 pounds) and 1/2-tank gas was an even 3400 pounds on a certified scale.

My 88 4+3 Coupe (without driver) weighed in at 3130 lbs. with 3/4 tank. This was without the spare or jack, and Corbeau Forzas in place of the (heavy) factory leather sport seats.

My 96 LT4.
Started out with 3300 lbs
-32 lbs spare tire and jack
-42 lbs headers w/o cats
-31 lbs weight loss (aluminum flywheel)
105 lbs loss
+17 lbs Cross-bar
+10 lbs Camber-brace
Currently - 3222lbs.

I weighed mine yesterday. 3130 without spare, and with 3 gallons of gas.
With me in it, and a full tank, i'm pushin 3350.

My '96 LT4 weighed in at 3358. That was with a nearly full tank; AS&M Harness Bar and Harnesses (with extinguisher) and 274/40 * 313/35 Kumhos mounted for Autocrossing.

Really, to me the C4 is heavier than it should be.
Why is a fiberglass-bodied 2 seat roadster well over 3000 pounds?
For comparison, My 95 Nissan Maxima SE 4door/5 passenger car weighs 3020 pounds.
That just strikes me as downright weird.
What the heck. Of course. it has an all-aluminum V6 vs. a iron small block V8.

My car weighed 3444 with me in it at englishtown. Im 145 lbs. Thas with no spare tire, but with a speaker box weighing at least 40 lbs, and heavier 18s...bigger brakes etc. 93 six -speed :cheers:
