Default Help!! Electric Fans

Does anyone know when the Radiator Fans start to run on a 96 LT1 and can they be adjusted to come on earlier. Someone told me that the fans are controlled thru ECM for 96? I'm going to have to brake down and get a service manual but that's $150. Any one got a 96 manual for sale ?

This topic has been run through a number of times (myself included). I'm not sure what temp your primary fan comes on (i think 226* and off at 180*), however, for more accurate info, check the archives in the search engine. Mine has/is driving me a little
:mad
Good luck

They can be adjusted by having someone program your computer , or using one of the hypertech programers. If you are going to do this I suggest you switch to a 160 t-stat and make sure you get one that is specific to the LT1 engine. If you dont, then your fans may run a lot more then you want them to.

They shud come on "low" at approx 226* & "Hi" at approx 236*. They run together & have 2 speeds, "Lo" & "Hi".

Hi Frank, You have a nice set of wheels, Buy the manuals. Where? First, the Chevy place parts, next E-Bay. I think going price for a good set is $80-90. It's the best $$$ you can spend on your Vette, I know :chevy

Thanks Guys Will be putting pic's of my new wheels on soon. Got the ride about 3 weeks ago for a steal I might add. The previous owner dropped about 2400 because car wasn't running right and had oil leak (local chev dealer). I fixed a few more troubles like the drivers seat, climate control, tail light, battery tray, etc. We'll be looking for the service manual now!
