Default Dynaspark seems to be the answer!!!

Hi, posted here awhile back about 92 stalling and just shutting off. Replaced opti, with dynaspark, car runs great have gone about 100 miles. It's like a new car. Also, put on four Firehawks, had the top down today, its great to be back on the road. Thanks for all the advice. Jim

I have to agree the dynaspark seems to be the answer for me also. I could not justify the ltcc conversion being as it still uses the moisture prone opti for signaling. Only time will tell how the dynaspark will hold up(hopefully for a long time with how much it cost!). :)

Ah-HA!

The moisture has it's worst effect on the high voltage side, not on the opti signal side...

I have the LTCC, and it is fabulous!

LTCC = LT1 to LS1 Coil Conversion. It uses 8 LS1 coils to replace the opti high voltage side. I don't have the link with me...

DynoTech has reengineered the opti. It is a much nicer piece! No question. I just wanted to get away from the distributor concept....

The high voltage part was never a problem in my car. The optical sensor was the problem due to it having a film on it. I guess everyone is different? I dont plan to rev mine past the 6800rpm recomendation by dynaspark, so ltcc made no sense for me.

Yeah if you had an optical problem, the LTCC wouldn't help you, but my belief is that the moisture is only a problem on garage queens or if you spray the engine with water or the water pump blows.

You gotta remember the opti is no different than your standard distributor, caps and rotors don't last forever and the same for opti's. In my case and I think Andy's our cap and rotor part failed, so we converted to LTCC and eliminated that protion of the opti. True if we get an optical problem, we may be in trouble, but no more than anyone else who has an opti problem.

I've been out in teh rain a bunch of times with the LTCC and no problems what so ever, it was money well spent.

The above is the first Dynaspark review I've seen and it seems to be a solution as well.

It all comes down to preference.
