My 86 had an egr switch code. Bad switch. They no longer make it and the cheapest I could find was $500 on ebay. I removed the switch, smog pump and other emisions crap and blocked off the egr. The check engine light went away, runs better, and runs cooler. The computer recognized something was wrong with the switch, but doesnt recognize that its not there anymore. NO PING!
