Default Stock camshaft identification (L98)

I recently replaced the camshaft in my '89 L98 with a ZZ4 cam, and was wondering if the one I pulled from the motor was the stock one. The only markings I could find on it were these numbers "049.CPC.BC.15" stamped in the cam going around it between the first lobe and the fuel pump drive. I was just asking because the intake manifold gaskets had been replaced sometime before I got the car, and I wanted to make sure I wasn't pulling out a better camshaft. Thanks.

If you can get hold of a dial indicator and measure that cam I can give you the specs on my '88 cam; I don't think the cam changed for '89.

At least you could compare it with the new cam.

Don't have a dial indicator right now and my calipers got run over recently, so I can't measure it right now. Santa should bring me a new dial caliper, so I can get some measurements later this week. It doesn't look that different from the ZZ4 cam I bought that I can tell, but not having seen all that many roller cams, they all kinda look the same to me. The cam I pulled out didn't have a painted stripe on it, if that helps. If you have your '88 cam still, does it have any markings on it?

Sorry but I've not seen my stock cam (yet, it's still in the engine) but have the specs:
.273"/.282" = int/exh lift
117deg = LSA

Can you get a rough measurement on the lobes to see which cam looks better?

Just looked at my old camshaft, and it has the same markings. I think you have a stock cam there. :)

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. Was hoping I wasn't pulling out a better cam than I was installing.
