1985 Fuel Injectors...How do you disconnect them?

The injector connectors on my '88 have a wire clip that runs round the connector.
When you depress this clip at the rear of the connector the wire moves out at the sides of the connector which allows you to remove the connector.
The 9th (cold start) injector can be more difficult to unplug but the principle is the same.

The 85's have a different connector than the 86- later cars with the easy-release metal clips but dang it,I cant rem exactly what the difference was!!!
TT for the 85 owners to tell you.

Disconnecting the retainer clips on the electrical connectors for the fuel injectors on my 85 is a pain. Unlike the newer cars the connectors do not have the push in release on the clip. So I use a small screw driver and a mechanics pick. I start with one side on the clip and get it to release then you can push that side in and that gets the clip in a "twisted" position on the plastic connector. If you can twist it far enough the other side with release. If not you have to pry out the other side of the clip as well. Do not pry on the plastic connector, pry on the clip only. I have no pictures to show, you just have to work at it.
