backfire at wot???/
ran car today...ran reasonally good until i step on it....started to backfire??
only thing i could tell you is that a couple of days earlier...she ran hot ...at the track did not even get in one run.....some smoke came from under the hood..could not tell where came from...car would not start up imedaitely.....five min. later car cranked

not to say its a blown head gasket,but try a cylinder leak down test if u have the tools and know how.or go to a shop and request a test on that. it will tell you whats going on. thats just a suggestion. a better one is.....start with the basics. check fuel pressure. why did it over heat? did the car ping or start to detonate when in WOT? check your plugs also. keep us posted DAVE.
