After getting the car home and letting it sit over nite it took a bit to get it going. Its a 86. It cranked good and fast, but took about 10-15 seconds of holding the key and cranking it. Could there be some kind of oil pressure switch or something inline that is faulty....Im sure this isnt the norm. As soon asit fires it runs strong and steady.
Thanx
Hard starting when warm is the typical symptom of leaking injector(s).
Put a fuel pressure gauge on the Schraeder valve on the fuel rail and turn the key On for a few seconds and see how long the fuel pressure holds. If it drops rapidly, service the injectors. You can have them reconditioned by Rich at Cruzin Performance (link on my site) or install new injectors.
Meanwhile, on a warm start simply turn the key on and hold the accelerator to the floor for a minute or so. Then release it and start the engine.
Sit overnight hard start. I think its your cold start valve (injector). take it out and have Cruzperformance clean and reinstall. Careful on the fuel tube that the cold start attached to. Its bendable so you can take the cold start out after loosen it from the rear of the plenum. If you break that tube it will cost you ~$90. There are no one on the market selling a new cold start anmore. You may find a used cold start valve from a Camaro or firebird at a junkyard. and have it clean so the down time on the Vette is minimum.
