Anyone try the new Breathless Performance Aluminum Pulley Upgrade?
I just saw this on their website :
http://www.breathlessperformance.com/products/244.asp
Anyone try this yet? What is it supposed to do in reality?
ps.I already have the Air Pump Eliminator on the car.

Good question, i too have the kit on my car. Doesnt seem like it could do much since the pulley is already freewheeling :smash:

I have the March steel underdrive crank with overdrive alt pulleys and was wondering if Al pulleys would be more helpful.
I think that all Al pulleys would realy help in 1st gear where the engine is spinning up quickly and any rotary inertia of the pulleys would have maximum drag. But I think that in 2nd gear and above they don't help much.
Botom line the quicker your engine revs the more effect you would get from Al pulleys.

Yeah I have the march power amp alum pulleys on my car also, but the pulley upgrade seems to be just a replacement pulley forthe airpump eliminator kit. Since it is a free spinning pulley, I just don't see what this
'upgrade' would be really good for other than as someone already said.
"Lighten your wallaet for $59.95"..

Even just a "pulley" has some rotary inertia; the heavier it is the more inertia.
And of course the faster you spin it up the more hp it takes to increase it's rotational speed.
I tend to agree that it likely lightens the wallet more than it frees up hp.
BTW, did you see any results on your time slips from those Al pulleys? I didn't realy see any gain from my steel pulley underdrive set.

Unfortunately I did the alum pulleys the same time I did my AFPR, and it was a good 6 years ago, if not more, but I do recall the car feeling faster off the line and smoking up the tires easier after I had it put on. (Yes back in those days I had a shop do the work on the vette)
