How much exactly is dicounted on teh donor car.
I Have a bone stock LT4. Unmolested. But for someone to rip into my car and stat trying to figure stuff out, there better be a BIG discount to make it worth it if you ask me.
but then again a TT LT4 would be nice (Till it blew up))

As I said before, the tune is the most important thing. I would be very apprehensive about driving the car much without a tune.

Running 8PSI on a 10.5:1 motor will be almost the same as running 13PIS on an 8.5:1 motor. You just have to run lower boost and calculate what the final CR will be.
Of course boost makes more power than compression points and big turbos like these guys want to sell don't perform very well out of their range like that.

That is correct. With the right tuning you can get away with the added boost. At least for a while...hehe. The LT1 Z28 that runs the PTK system never had a problem with his, and ran for a long while till he decided to go big with 1000+hp 383 and PTE-76GTS.

i sent them a message to see if they'd be interested in my car. i have forged internals but externally the engine is the same as a stock LT4 or LT1. i actually have it apart right now, and could put in some low compression pistons if they want my car. i could make some serious HP with this kit!

I may get tired of waiting and just go that route, as for now, the 505 RWHP of the stroker ZR1 has proven sufficient.

Ron, I know of a 1990 zf6 spd / fx3 Callaway Twin Turbo (coupe) w/ the big Wonderbar already done and hoodscoops upgraded for 23k
The guy at this point is GIVING the car away (about 30k mi) - it is red w/ gray leather and about a 3.5 hr drive away from you!!!
The car has the correct Dymags and was recently at Callaway Cars for a "once over"
Interested???

I know that some Callaway owners might not agree-but a Callaway with the turbos that come on the car can not support more than 550 rwhp. Larger turbos are the only way to make big hp.The turbos on Callaways are rotomaster designs about the size of t3's. On a 350 cu motor the air flow is maxed past 5000 rpm. I'm not trying to start a fight-just giving my experience.

89b2k, the last Callaway Twin Turbo produced (completed this past Jan. after sitting in a dark corner of the shop for years) makes appx. 525hp & 675 tque using the standard turbos.
Some owners have recently sent their turbos back to Old Lyme for some upgrades to handle more flow and be more consistent in the wastegates -

I would like to hear more about your 1989 Callaway
in the meantime, check out www.callawayownersgroup.com and dropp by the Callaway_Forum - it is specific to Callaway Corvettes and the owners & enthusiasts who are there are a GREAT Bunch

89x2, 525 fwhp is alot different than the 550 rwhp I stated. If this is not true, then I would like to see some dyno graphs of more than 550 rwhp. Did'nt want to start a fight, I just wanted people to know.

89b2k, I was just posting something I thought you might find of interest, not comparing anything at all here...
If I missed something, let me know...
