please note the 84 springs are quite a bit stiffer than 85-87. the base spring for the 84 is about 35% stiffer, and the 84 Z51 spring is about 65% stiffer than the other Z51 springs from the other years.

Yeah, I really would like to use some USED 84 z51 springs front and rear. The question is, how would the run without doing roll-bars/shocks.

Where the heck can I get em cheap from?

It'll run fine, its gonna ride rough though.

Finding good deals on springs is not real easy. I'd start in the racing section. Those guys are changing spring rates more often than the "general" section waxes their cars. Good general rule of thumb for auto-xing is soft springs, stiff bars and the best shock money can buy. IMHO don't waste your money on wannabe shock manufacturers. Buy QA1's, or Koni Sport Adjustables. -JRC-
