Well, no luck finding replacement dash parts. No one wants to sell, they want me to send in my dash. And I dont have 1000 bucks to fix this dumb thing. How much is that Autometer blue replcement?
So.....heres my thought: Rig up some mechanical units for now? Can someone tell me what will work? And yes, as cheap as possible. I will need oil pressure, coolant temp, and volt meter for sure. I will also get a mechanical tach to mount on the steering column by the ign key (which I was going to do anyway).
Now, what about the fuel level guage? This one I am not familiar with. Definitely need that one too!
So any suggestions will be great. Have to get it done before they go completely.

Check and see if George Crouse is still a CF member. He did a full analog replacement dash for a Pre-90 and it came out great!! You may be able to see it on the archives if it retained it.
I tried a 91 Camaro cluster, but I couldnt get it to work. The Camaro cluster is almost the same shape and size, and the 90-92 had an electronic speedo too. I searched wiring schematics and think I had it right but not everything worked, and the tach was way off. The cluster was supposed to be from a V8, and it supposedly worked, but I bought it from EBAY so who knows.
BTW, Nordskog or Dakota Digital (cant remember) quoted me like $850 for their digital replacement. You need to send in your cluster for them to mount it up. I dont know if it retains the cruise control- you did know that the brain for the cruise is in the cluster, right?
Ok guys. I found a place which would replace everything for 689.00 plus shipping. If anyone interested I can post the info. BUT, thats still out of my price range.
Back to the analog gauge deal. Volt meter, oil press, and coolant temp, and tach shouldnt be a problem. What about the Fuel level? The guy at car quest says their electronic fuel level gauge wont work with my factory in tank sanding unit. Anyone know what would work? If i purchase all these gauges I could probably do everything for $150 give or take. Please help. Thanks.
As far as the stock dash goes, I fixed mine. The back lighting was the only problem I had but they do make replacement boards fot the tach and MPH, don't know about the others. I know that the components are old enough that you can get replacement components at a radio shack. The first thing to go on our clusters is usually the lighting because who ever engineered it wasn't thinking (or becase technology wasn't as good back in the day). There is a set of solid prongs that connect the bottom and top circuit boards together (slide one on top of the other, very primative looking) and the current drawn by the back lights is to much for the conductive grease that they used to help the prongs connect to the top board. I got rid of the prongs for the lights and soldered in wire. No more problems.
BUT i still need someones help on installing this fuel level gauge. I have to have it done soon so i can drive the car. Which one is the right one ? How do I wire the gauge correctly? Someone please HELP!
