Default (Late) C4 Front Hub Availability?

Hi All,
I was just told by Parts Plus that the Late C4 front hubs are discontinued by Timkin.
Does anyone know who makes them? who sells them? and what is the best price and place to get them at?
Thanks
Evan

Try CorvetteCentral, Ecklers and Mid-America. I've seen the listed in their catalogs. The prices, etc., may be available in their on-line catalog.

$400 each from the Chevy Dealership

Mid America
Delco's are $299 each
Repros are $159.

The repros do not have the ABS Cog and therefore the ABS will not work.
Has anyone heard of this?

Evan,

Ask for 92 model Firebird hubs. They are exactly the same with the exception of the mounting holes on the F bodies are tapped. Drill out the threads and they'll bolt to your Vette with no problems. Another advantage to going this route is that they sell for $129.

Thanks Dave,
I was wondering about the fire bird hubs, I thought it was just for rears.
Is it Camaros too? it must be the same. The firebird hubs work with the ABS?
Thanks
Evan

You don't have to drill out the hubs.....just put the bolt
in from the backside.

The ABS system is a direct plug-in and works fine. As mentioned above, you can just flip the bolts but then you will have the harness clip under the bolt head. When you torque the bolts, the clip wants to twist out sometimes. I would asume that Camaro hubs are the same, but I just always buy the Firebird hubs. My local Autozone keeps them in stock or at least they did 30 days ago.

Did I read in another thread that the Chicago Rawhide hubs are the same as the OEM hubs??

And will the later firebird hubs work on an 87??

Do you mean '93-97 F-body hubs? '92 F-body didn't have ABS.

Evan has an '88(?) which uses the early-style C4 hubs, with the reluctor gear rather than a plug. I don't think the F-body hubs will work for him.

I guess I didn't take the time to research what year car he had and just assumed it was a 91 or newer since he said late model hubs.

As far as what year of Firebird had what I'm not sure of that either, but I do know that I ask for the hub for 92 models and it works on both, my 91 and my 96 Corvette.
