Hey guys,
I have a friend that has an 84 with a stock motor and aftermarket exhaust. He is looking for a cam to gain a little power but mostly he wants a lopey sound. This is a california car so bear that in mind. I figured if anyone could help it would be here.
thanks from a C3 guy.
Lots of crossfire guys use the Crane Compucam 2030, 2040 and 2050.
Summit has them. Best place for specific crossfire info is www.crossfire.homeip.net:81/cftest
That is a bad plan. First a "lopey sound" will challenge his ability to pass a smog test. Second, a cam that produces a "lopey sound" does so, because the duration and overlap necessary for the lope, sacrifice low end performance (torque) for higher end horsepower. The Crossfire set up won't supply air for higher rpm power. The cam he wants to listen to, may sound great parked at the drive in, but it will provide worse performance that the Crossfire already has. Ask someone that has a Crossfire.
