Does your L98 act up near empty, and how accurate is the digital fuel guage?

When my LED readout indicates three bars or so of fuel, the voice warning system (VWS) says, "Bingo Fuel!" "Bingo Fuel!" "Bingo Fuel!" in a sultry female tone.
I know then not to floor it, lest I risk fuel system starvation. I also know it's time to tank up...Pronto!

With my old 350 when I ran low 1.7 to high 1.6 60 foots at the strip if I had 1/4 tank or less and if I had a hook, right in the middle of 1st gear it would completely shutdown for a split second. This is due to the slosh that happens during the initial launch that cause the pick-up to pick-up an air bubble, but it only happens to me when I have a full hook. Its amazing how quickly that air bubble reaches the injectors. Typically about 1- 1.5 seconds later.
Now with my 383 and 1.5x 60 foots, this will happen like clockwork at just slightly under 1/2 tank of gas. I obviously race with a mininum of 1/2 tank, and typically 3/4 tank nowadays.

mine is pretty accurate.. it was coughing on the expressway when i had 1 bar and 12 miles left.. i was like 10 miles from home...
the engine died at 2 miles left and i ROLLED into the gas station in neutral!
so i would say its VERY accurate for me, but i hear it is case by case, none of the cars are alike on the gas meters...

I bought my '85 six months ago from a dealer. They were supposed to fill it up before I drove it off the lot (of course they didn't) I drove the 20 miles home with the salesman following in the vette. Then I had to drive him back to his house it was around 10pm the dealership closed). On my way back I finally noticed that I had only 12 miles left on range and about 10 miles to nearest gas station. To make a long story longer, I got stuck in traffic due to construction on the highway and I had zero bars left on my fuel guage with 2 miles to range left. The car started idling really funny (I thought I was going to get stuck on the highway). I made it to the gas station though. But then 2 weeks later I was driving to work with about 1/2 tank left and my fuel guage started increasing (I was making gas!). Needless to say, I don't trust digital readouts, even though when I was down to the wire, it seemed pretty accurate...
