I'm in the process of building my new engine, and was wondering if anyone close can burn chips.

DIY. An over the phone job will be hit or miss (most likely miss). A part throttle and dyno tune will be better, but someone who's willing to spend a day with your car will charge a lot. When someone else does it, you can't experiment and you're stuck with whatever percentage of your potential they give you. You can be burning for $150. If you do burn, gain access to a scanner - there are free ones for your laptop.

Hey FoolCrzy,

I live in Cincinnati, OH also, West Chester Area to be exact.

Just picked up my Red / Red 1988 Corvette Coupe yesterday

Do you know of any places that are good to buy parts locally?

I'm in Hamilton, Ohio (Indian Springs to be exact), and just bought an '86. I believe Calmap makes software for chip burning information. I'm going to look into this software because I work for a computer/electronics company and we burn chips all the time here. Hopefully I can do ECU chips, because soon i'll be putting a new engine in my car.

I believe CALMAP is for DFI. Read the tech article at www.thirdgen.org. It'll give you the basics.
