I am going to need some new rears after I finish installing the cam, heads, and SuperRam. I have had ET streets and BFG's on my mustang. The ET streets are a great drag radial but I can't imagine what they would be like in a little rain. I think i can get the BFG's in a 275 45 17, but how long will they last and how is traction in a little water.
Thanks

for a street tire, consider NITTO.

better in the rain, last a little longer.

If you want better traction, do the BFGs, but expect shorter milage, and NO rain traction after some wear.

Yep, what he said. BFG's are no good for driving. They throw up rocks and are a nightmare in the rain.

I agree, I had BFG's on and they pick up everything and fling. They suck in teh rain and they are way too sticky for a 6 speed car. An automatic car maybe OK. The Nitto has a harder compound and will last much longer, but when they go away, they go away fast.

ET street are not drag radials, they are a bias ply tire and they are very bad in the rain.
IMHO NO drag radial should ever be used as a everyday street tire.
AS for how long they will last. I get less than 400 total miles out of a set, that driving to and from the track and about 80 runs.

I agree. I have Nitto 555-1's on all four wheels and they're great.

I drove them through light flooding/hydroplaning conditions yesterday without any problem.

As for snow and icey roads? 'Dunno. TBD.

As for Sunbelt daily driver tires I highly recommend? Nitto 555's.

Other cars may get close to my rearend on the daily commute, but they can't match my right turn at 40+ mph (with no tire skidding squeal.)

The Nitto's make that happen. I also want a set of them on my Suzuki GS 750T!
