157 No a problem! I actually felt the car going down and getting closer to the ground.

I must have worse luck than most of you. After I had my 92 for three weeks, I wanted to see triple digits on the speedo. Got it up to 101, then slowed down and exited the interstate. Flashing blue lights behind me meant that I was <busted> State trooper ticketed me for going 90 in a 65. I guess I'll wait for a turn around a track before I try that again!

Only hit 110mph so far that was in the hills of kentucky on a sunday morning on my way home from it on tires that were about to rip apart and over 2 years of sitting with thick gunk for oil and low on coolant, was about as safe as I felt taking it at that point, my buddy who was in my other car (2000 Cougar), was like damn it I wanna go faster, I was like uhuh and I don't want to be scrapping my *** off the ground when these tires rip apart

Now I've had the cougar to 135mph in Traffic, racing down in Florida and in Georgia (passed a cop racing an Eclipse @ 110mph, didn't even bother to stop, and he didn't bother to come after us -- good thing

I have every intention of building up the 'Vette to handle those speeds nicely but she's been sitting too long for me to trust her yet, hehe give me a few months with some time and some nice suspension work and then I'll top her out

I'm one of those guys that would prefer to build up everything around the engine long before building up the engine, I see no point to doing 160 if I can't stop from that speed safely or can barely control it.

I did learn 1 important lesson, at about 120 in heavy winds, you really should put the windows up and close the moonroof as you start to get really squirley -- That was in the cougar.

Who hasn't?

160ish for me, I prefer to stay under 140 or so when having fun though. That's when it gets a little too fast/scarey.

124 with the top out and windows down. It was getting a little loud. I ran out of road, but I wasn't gonna push it much farther, didn't wanna try my luck.

Went 188 according to speedo with 3.33 gears and auto (lingenfelter 383, 1990 Coupe). Not sure if it had anything left, front end got a little light at 170. Have 3.73 gears now, so it probably only does 175 or so. Fun, but a different kind of fun than drag racing. Top end is good to do once or twice, but so much can happen past 150 mph that it is a little scary.

I have not been over 120... and thats been at the dragstrip.

SDBOJRAB,

Sounds like a very similar set-up to mine... have you raced it at the track ? How'd you do ?

Cheers,
Beach Bum

Hit 150 in the 95 and 150 in the GS. The GS felt way more stable. The 95 felt a bit loose at that speed.

GS did 163 and felt loose maybe because I just lowered the rear.

157 in my 88 coupe, 160 in a 97 coupe, 135 on my 87 roadster with the top off, 150 with the top on, just doing a shakedown rune on the new 383 stroker. Plan to see 180 in the 87 soon!

168 once in my '85 on a cold dry 3am morning. (Had a perfect reason too. Was going to get my brother to a hospital out of a car accident faiting in and out of consciousness)

I was REALLY pushin her that night. It might have not been exactly 168 as I had lower profile rears than the real 255.50.16's but still at least 150+ on Route 8 in CT.
