U-Joints may be going out, how to fix?

My U-Joints seem to be going out, It sure feels like it. I'm wondering how big of an undertaking it is to try to replace these myself. A book I have says take off the exhaust, if that is really needed, is it hard at all to do? Anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks a lot.

I just started to do my half shafts about an hour ago. It isn't too bad, just cramped. As far as the driveshaft, haven't gotten there yet but my book says the same thing.
