I was coming off the interstate and as I was slowing on the off ramp to go right I down shifted from OD to D and something went "clunk-clunk" under the car. Almost sounded like I threw something up under it, but there was nothing on the road. Now, when I drive in city traffic and have it in Drive there seems to be a lot of play in the RPM's. If I have it in OD at a stop and just accelerate it seems to go through the gears fine but if I drive it in Drive something just isn't right....Thoughts?? Comments?? Questions??

Without looking at it....sounds like your torque converter 
Take it to the tranny shop quick...let them check the oil pressures to make sure...either way it doesn't sound good!
Ask around and take it to a shop well known for its 700r4 expertise..

Burning Brakes
Yes that is the first indication of your trans goin out. Soon 4th gear OD will not work, and then 3rd. This happened again to mine last week. It is in trans shop now gettin new Level 10 trans. Good luck.
