"Shorten TV cable" to raise shift points???

I think that he meant to push the cable release button and push the cable rearward a click at a time until you get what you're looking for. It's the little plastic thing with a metal button inside located by the throttle linkage.

I thought a shorter TV cable would lower and quicken the shift points. Anyway it only works for part throttle. For WOT shift point changes you need to change springs/weighs like with a TransGo shift kit.

The TV cable is not used to set the shift points. It should be set using the method in the book.
Changing weight/springs in the governor will set your shift points.

86 L98, auto trans. I find myself running in "D" while under 35 mph only because she shifts into OD around 30. Is there a way to have her not shift into OD untill about 40??? Appreciate it.

Thou will find himself up a creek without a paddle...I once saw a young lad shell out his 700r4 because he didn't know what he was doing messing with his shift pressures adjusting his tv cable
Do our homework and take it to a good 700r4 tranny shop if you want a hard hitter...
