While pulling the engine, I noticed that the coil isn't looking too pretty.

Any recommendations on which one to replace it with?

MSD, ACCELL.

Anyone have good or bad experiences with a particular one? ALso, post a part number if you know it.

I have used both. No complaints with either. I currently have the MSD coil. The Accel was still working fine when I removed it. I changed it to the MSD when I installed the MSD 6AL ignition. Probably would've been fine, but I just had to have a "matching" system. Sorry, I don't have the part numbers handy for them(actually the Accel coil came as a package with the 300+ ignition- which lasted about 3 months), but Jegs or Summit should have them if you have a catatlog.

I've got an MSD. Better than stock? Who knows. I just replaced my wires with MSD and put in NGK TR55 plugs while I was at it. Eventually I'll add an MSD 6al, so it'll all match. The aftermarket coils are probably all pretty much the same.

I just ordered an Accel Super coil, part # ACC-140011. There probably all pretty much the same but I didn't want a red coil under my hood, I preferred the yellow. Haven't got it yet so I don't know how well it works.

I ordered the MSD coil and some MSD plug wires from Jegs.

Thanks to all for the recommendations.

I've run the MSD 8226 for almost 2 years without problems.
