Default Need new opti

Looks like the fun has just began. Got the 93 LT1 with 30K out this morning. Temp was freezing overnight, and when I took it out is warmed up to high 30's. Warmed it up for 15 min. Ran great on the 10 mile trip to the store. Car sat for 20 min while I was shopping. When we stated the car, it ran rough, backfireing out the exhaust. Put it in gear, and just died. Fired it up again, let warm up for few minutes, put in gear, and ran terrible. After 10 minutes ran fine.

i am convinced it is the opti. probably got condensation inside.

My question is, can i replace it with the earlier model with the vent to the intake, like on the 96? Are they compatible?

About 3 years ago, I replaced the opti in my 92 and before installing I sent it to Corvette clinic in FL and Chris installed the nipples and vent hoses and gave me all the hardware for a vented opti. So, I have an early opti that is vented and I even put a bead of RTV around the cap to help kep the moisture out. If I had to do it now, I'd go with the DynoTech Dyna Spark.

Not without dorking around in the extreme, new timing chain cover, includes disturbing the front oil pan gasket and a couple of seals. If you're thinking of a new cam then I'd upgrade to the 95-96 opti. Otherwise, I'd find the tech tip with the mods to make the early Opti vented and better sealed.
