Default Question: 94 Vette

My fuel gauge is reading full although I've put about 150 miles on it sense I filled it up. Has anyone else had this problem? and is there a fix? This is my first Vette so any help is appreciated.

Hi All,
I just joined the Corvette forum today in the hopes of gaining great tried and true info. on a future C4 for me.I already see that all the posters really care about their vettes and are happy to share their info. to help all readers. Very cool.....I am retiring in June 2012, will relocate to North Carolina and after the dust settles after moving, then I will start my hunt in earnest for a Great C4. I am very glad I found this great group of C4 Vette owners to gain knowledge...Thanks again.......

I'd say check the plunger in your fuel tank, its probably stuck. Not sure the process of getting to that. But that's how I fixed it in my Toyota.

You might want to try some Techron concentrate. I have read elsewhere that one of the good side effects (other than cleaning injectors) is that sometimes it can remedy erratic or false fuel guage readings. Dave

............ ZF swaps

A few points to add:

4) Some folks say you need a ZR1 pivot stud when using a singlemass flywheel. Centralcoaster did NOT use one, so I'm going to assume this is not needed unless someone who HAS USED ONE can respond................

The longer LT5 stud is needed if you are using the standard Hydraulics and here is why.

The difference in height of the Lt5 stud is very close to the difference in thickness of a a D.M flywheel and a standard one. The LT5 is 3/4" inch longer than Std.

The stock Slave has a fixed amount of both throw and relaxed shaft length. With the shorter std. stud you will find the Slave cylinder bottoming out in the bore before becoming close to flush with the bell housing. This pushes back against the spring of BOTH the Slave and the PP.

Now understand that your car will "work" with the standard stud but operations will be the equivalent of you having slight pressure on the clutch pedal, all the time.

The pressure plate will not fully be disengaged. You will have a shortened disc life.

High Hp [ 350+] motors will drive RIGHT through that clutch no matter what disc you have. Slopping at high RPM and heating things up mightily.

Default Good stuff!

I've wanted a corvette since I was 16. I'm 44 and just bought my first, a 1987 with 87K miles on it, this past weekend.

I appreciate this site as it is giving me insight to a lot of things I didn't know about my new old car!

My 1995 coupe has
GM3: AXLE REAR, 3.45 RATIO
I'm guessing it's fairly common.

Sadly, yes... a couple of times.

I was unable to update this thread to reflect that, and the file isn't up on the latest iteration.

I hope to get this resolved shortly.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. But I'm having trouble finding the actual FAQ or the links to the BOLD threads. Can I get pointed in the right direction?

I've tried several searches on the forum for charcoal canister (the passive EVAP equipment). I think mine is going bad and would like to get info on either replacing the unit (not that easy to find) or the filter and charcoal. As my name implies, it's an 86. Anyone have a lead on info for this little problem?

Google can be a big help for searching.
Here are some links for you to read thru. There is one on how to test it too. Hope it helps you out.
