Default OiL Pressure Readings Question

Just replaced the Oil Pressure Sensor and Oil Pressure Switch. Here are my the vitals and pressure readings.

86 Cast Iron Automatic
Oil Mobil 1 10W-30W

At Start-up cold - 62PSI

Engine Temp @ 208F+
Idle@650 RPM - 18-22 PSI
Highway speeds - 55 PSI Steady
Above the limit - 55 PSI Steady
Around town - 30-40 PSI

I think they were around 10 PSI higher with the original sensor but I never paid much attention to it.

Are thes okay or do I have to get an OEM sensor to true it up

Sensors vary. Your present readings look accurate. There is no way to verify that the readings will be the same from one sensor to another. This one is probably the more accurate.

RACE ON!!!

Thanks - I was hating the thought of doing the job again, but if I had to.....the second time will be easier.

Your readings are almost identical in every aspect to my '86 with cast iron heads running Mobil 1 15W50.
