Pics of lowered C4's with 315's in the rear please?
I have been thinking of lowering my car and have been debating over the loss of clearance which would make it harder to go up driveways and such or lowering it and getting better handling and a better look. I have 11" wide rims in the rear and would like to see some pics of a lowered C4 with 17X11's in the rear with 315/35/17 tires.
Thanks.
Also do any of you guys who have lowered their vettes have any comments or troubles after they lowered their car? I live in Michigan and our roads are full of potholes so I want to make sure it will retain its ride quality, as it is the front air dam scrapes every time I drive up a driveway. I have many suspension mods and I figure lowering it is the last step for better handling. Thanks for any comments/suggestions.

I have and 85 lowered with 315's in the back. I dont have any pictures but I dont have any problems driving around. I too live in michigan, the pot holes are a pain, but i dont have any clearance issues thus far. My car is lowered about 1.5 to 2 inches all the way around.

IMHO I think Lowerd vette's look great! Problem is I don't have the guts to do mine cause I'm already scraping like crazy at the stock hieght around here. (N. Alabama)

Here is my 85 lowered with 11" rims, AFS package with Dunlop 315's (geee, you don't see that here often )
IMO, It is a perfect fit, tire & body close and the sidewall right to the very edge, so close that the sidewall protrudes (1/8" ) but the tread does not.
Obviously you will scrape that front spoiler more often, but you scrape it anyway, so it will never look new. Replace it when necessary, maybe every other year.

I have a 93 with 19x11.5s in the rear. running 305/30/19 pirelli rossos on them. car is lower than any other c4 out there ( most likely ). doesnt rub one bit but i do have z07 springs, and custom valved (stiff) bilsteins with shortened shafts. and bigg sway bars... so basically its quite stiff so theres not much room for the suspension to drop enough to rub.

It probably just isn't my day for catching onto to something everyone else might know but, how in the heck do you have 11's in the back without fender flares?

Thanks for the pics and info guys.
I believe the consensus is that it improved the handling a significant amount and makes up for the lack of ground clearance right?
I already have the Z51 suspension (stiff springs/big solid sway bars), New Bilsteins, all poly bushing throughout, camber brace, 17's, etc..... The C4 handles better than almost any car I have driven but I think I will be lowering it next to get better handling because I want the best handling I can get out of my car.
Any more suggestions?

Just some FYI:
despite popular belief, lowering your car will not improve its handling charactoristics. It will completely offset factory suspension geometry (which we assume is correct for a car like this).
Unless you really redo the factory geometry, lowering is almost always a bad idea.

You're gonna get flamed for that one, but I'll take it with you. Although lowering the car might improve some aspects of handling it will likely adversely affect others.
Honestly though I can look at most of these pictures of lowered C4's and they don't really look any lower than mine, and I know mine is factory ride height. "The Look" looks just the same to me, and I never scrape my headers. To each their own I guess.
There are a few out there that are completely slammed, which just makes the car impractical.
