OK, here's the deal...the machine shop says they are super busy and won't be able to start on them for 3-4 weeks. I also found out that they wouldn't be able to mill any sharp corners on the lettering, it would end up being rounded. So I nixed that plan and went to a friend of mine who does laser engraving and today he got a sample done for me. Wow, it looks awesome! So that's what I'm going with. He should be finished with the lot of 25 pcs. by Monday, and I'll find out how much the cost will be....I'm thinking it will be less than expected. I've got the sample here but I was experimenting with a red marker and some red engine paint to see what looked best as I wanted mine to have red lettering, but most of you will probably want just the untouched aluminum color I'm guessing.
Stay tuned!

Yay, they are finally done. I want to paint the lettering with red engine paint on mine. Second photo shows a test I did using a red "Sharpie" on the "L", and red engine paint on the "1". The sharpie gave it sort of an anodized look. These were lasered with the special adhesive-backed masking paper applied, shown in last photo, which leaves an absolutely perfect stencil, ready for painting if so desired.

Was able to keep the total cost down to under $20. Price with shipping is $17.94 to members of the forum. Any unsold ones will be sold on the 'Bay for around $25.
Cheers!

This is what an original throttle body plate gasket looks like after 24 years. Mine was in pretty rough shape as shown. After a quick cleaning I installed a new gasket and one of these newly made plates, although I had painted the lettering with high temp engine paint. Seems to go well with the intake and engine covers, but then again maybe it's TOO much red?
Have plenty of these plates left, which comes with a new gasket, and it's one of the quickest and easiest upgrades you can do to your Vette.
Cheers!

Great Deal...Just Do It...
I just purchased and installed one of these custom engraved LT1 TB plates on my '96. It includes a new gasket with the plate, which makes this a great deal compared to others sold online. Jon is asking only $18 (with shipping) for the plate and gasket! Hurry before he sells out. He told me he's selling these cheaply ($18) to Corvette Forum members, but for a bit more on Ebay. The "LT1" is actually a light silver/metal gray color engraved on the black background. Thanks Jon!
