Just bought my 1st ZR1
Well guys I just became a ZR1 owner today. I got a '92 Arctic white with light grey leather. It has 4 piston Brembo calipers with crossdrilled and slotted 2-pc rotors. Also has the 2.75" Borla cat back system and new ZR1 5 spoke wheels. Has 29k miles and looks brand new. Sometimes it amazes me how a beautiful machine can make a man feel. Needless to say I'm ecstatic. If anyone has any advice on what to look for or problem areas, please give me feedback.

Hey John,
As, a new owner also. Take the DO NOT pressure wash the engine to heart. I thouht "Oh this won't happen to me" DOH! new starter time.
When I had the upper manifold off, I sure wanted to have it ported
Maybe next time.

Congratulations on your new baby! Sounds like a great car with nice upgrades. Only problems that I have had over 18k miles and 6 years were a leaking master clutch cylinder; ratling chain tensioners; leaking oil cooler line, and an ignition cylinder problem. These are fairly common problems that a reputable ZR1 mechanic can correct. Chances are that these problems may have already been addressed on your ZR1. Possible upgrades that you may want to consider that you did not list: rear gear change to 409's, performance chip, open air box with KN filter. Have fun with it!

The LT5 Registry has state chapters on the West Coast. There's a 50/50 chance that our 2002 National Meet will be in California,too. :cheers:

Congratulations!! :cheers: You'll never regret the purchase. I always look forward to the days that I jump in the ZR1 and go for a spin. There will always be something special about that car.
The only problem you might look for in the ZR1 is it's total unwillingness to go under 100mph.

I am also new to the world of ZR-1 ownership. I was originally going to buy a new C5 convertible, but have never regretted choosing the ZR-1 instead. My 94 only had 4600 miles on it when I picked it up and it felt like a brand new car. I just added a Triflow exhaust system, a chip and K&N with open air box and now I a really starting to have some fun. I hope you enjoy your new toy as much as I have been enjoying mine!!!

I had a C5 convertible and traded it in for my yellow banshee <g>. Although I wish I'd have kept the 'vert and just added to the collection (the C5 was a great cruiser).
However, I would not get rid of my '94 for anything I can think of at the moment
