Wait.......
There is a ZR1 convertable somewhat "crushed" in a FL showroom somewhere. Guarantee he wants $50k and not $5k IF it is the one that GM didn't put in the cruncher.
Unsure though

Melting Slicks
There have been at least 3 convertibles that I've seen pictures of. The one in the NCM which will never see the street in this lifetime.
And at least 2 that I've seen pictures of.
They started life as regular coupes and had their tops removed by aftermarket companies.
GM didn't make *ANY* convertible ZR1's for public consumption.
Period.
It's most likely a "Clone".
One bumper emblem and !Viola!, instant ZR1.

There was one 1988 'prototype' ZR 1 convertible built. It had a narrow body but was sequenced as a ZR 1 and the build sheet refrences it as a ZR1. Its the only one I know that came down the production line as a ZR 1 convertible. Its disposition is unknown, never made it to the public.

And there was a yellow one on Ebay a year or two ago in Europe that was built from a standard 'vert using real ZR-1 quarter panels and an LT5 installed. Never did hear if it sold.
