What really perks my curiosity, is why is this person selling this car now?
Now that the prices are rock bottom?
The new C06 ZR-1 hasn't debuted yet, so he not selling it to step up to the plate.
He/she didn't drive his original ZR1 so what's the point of selling at such a loss?
I just don't get it.
*Needs more space for some other future collectable in his garage
Take your pick. Few years ago before I even joined Corvette Forum, I remember seeing a guy's website that was actually buying ZR-1s. His reason "I'm snapping up as many as I can and then I'll turn a profit on resale when GM ressurects the moniker again in the future, making the C4 Zs go up in value.". Wonder if his words will prove true.
Maybe if the C6 ZR was a quad cam 32 valve engine as well but time will tell I guess.

The really sad thing is that there's probably Hundreds more 1990 ZR-1's out there just like this one.
I think I saw some time ago (the ZR1 Net Registry maybe??) that about half of the 3049 of 1990's had been accounted for.
The other half had apparently been hidden away in dark little corners awaiting the day when they became as valuable as a '67 L-88 or a '69 ZL1.
Obviously that hasn't happened and probably won't happen any time soon.

How many years of a "Bull Run" have we had since 1990 ?
I would guess some people are cutting their losses and moving on.
BTW... What are those Gatorbacks worth ?

Just took #1643 for a quick fun run this morning.
Pulled in the garage and noticed that I gone 62 miles.
In less than an hour I had a lot more fun with my ZR-1 than that owner did "watching" his for 18 Years!.

It's also possible it's just time/age. I doubt it was a 30 year old guy buying the car in 1990 and socking it away. You figure someone in their early 50's then would be pushing 70 today. I'm not trying to say older people can't enjoy cars, but everyone reaches some point where they just can't or don't want to have to take care of stuff like that. Just a thought...

Thirteen years of fun, 50+ NHRA 1/4mi runs, hundreds more on the street, cross the USA blasts at over 170mph., cruises, car shows, taking all the family for their first 100mph. and 150mph. runs. Damn, it's been fun
I turn sixty three today, and all that I can tell that guy who owns the gorgeous black 90' is............I won.

Hey a stock/bond/mutual fund/cd investment
doesn't take over your garage.
There is a cost to storing vehicles.
Factor all costs.
Mark
.. Liking the '90 ZR-1 and '70 Lt-1. Liking and

The dude is super hard core or crazy. What mental torture to go into that garage everyday & trying not to drive these cars.
