is your car a 90? is the full power light on? . my 89 i have to turn the key about 70-80 % to ge t full power if i just turn it all the way it could be doing what mine does lights on but full power not home . try turning it part way and see what happens. one last thing is the ck engine light on ? you might also scann for codes .if it has tripped a code the secondARYs wont work.

Troubleshooting is a little different based upon your year.

Is your car a 90? Or a 91-95?

First when you turn the key to the run posisition, does the SES light even come on?

Second, when you start the car does the SES light up indicating a current code?

What exactly are you experiencing? There are only certain conditions that will enable full power. Mainly being WOT & above 3k rpms. And one of the things I do to ascertain the secondaries are functioning is go to 7K rpms. I usually do that in 2nd gear, otherwise 7000 RPMs will put me in triple digits. Wheeeeee!

Do you have a service engine light? If you have that on it may not let you switch into full power. Also, the contacts may not be meeting inside the power key switch because they may be worn out. I think there is a fix for that. If not...there is a valet key switch for sale on the auction site. Good luck.

Make sure the Full Power light is on at all times. Some switches are weird.

After all, I'm the dumbass who dyno'ed mine without realizing I didn't have it in full power mode!

Output: 182 horsepower!

Hey update your profile. All we can see is a C5 listed. We need to know what year Z you have so we can tell you whats up. Otherwise we are all guessing. GC

This is how most of us feel with open ended questions with no response or updates

Guess he found the answer to his problem ,due to lack of a return message to us all. On my red car i went to a simple rocker switch instead of paying a c .note for the key switch . i am thinking of doing it to the other car also as i have to fiddle with the key switch to keep the full power on.

You could always put a chip in the ECM that defaults to "on" upon start up. It's a good way to keep the secondaries "lubed".

He said he had a '90. The '90 key can default to whatever you want from the factory, no chip required. It sounds like he just has a bad switch or something.

Don't kick yourself too bad, some dumbasses take their Z to Beech Bend and proceed to run all afternoon with ASR enabled.

It's all good. Now a bunch of ricers out there think they've got me beat... I think it'll be a lot of fun showing them otherwise.
