Default Is a low milage 1990 ZR-1 a good long term investment??

I am thinking about buying a 1990 ZR-1 with 2600 miles. All original with all of the documents. This is for sale at a car dealer.

What is a fair price to pay for this type of car???

Red exterior with saddle tan interior

Thanks

Don't purchase for an investment... Purchase to drive and take to car shows. Basically enjoy it.

Will it turn out to be worth more, probably...

That car is probably worth between $35k and 45k (my guess)

Good Luck!

1st .... my opinion is just that... my opinion, and not worth much but you are asking about ZR-1's as an investment? The value in a ZR is in the driving it. Again, just my opinion ... but these cars HATE not being driven, at least mine does. If you are dead set on a C4 as an investment....just based on production #'s and perceived future value these two:

and
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1852210

might be a better "investment" (I use the term loosely) considering rarity.
Don't get me wrong, I love my ZR-1 but to me the value in it is the feeling it gives me at 7k.

A investment no I do not think so
you want to make money its not in ZR-1 corvettes thats for sure look at the car you want to buy someone probably spent over 100K for it in 90 then never drove the damn thing and now its for sale at how much?? you tell us

Now do you think that was a good investment? It was a waste of money at least thats what I think DRIVE IT

Buy a DRIVER

Long term a mid teen to 20k mile car can be a good LONG term investment if it's used occasionaly, and you can get into it under $20k. Are there better investments, sure. Will you make money? I donno, but you should be able to come close to breaking even. You get the enjoyment of the car for those years, and that is a value only you can appraise.

Out of all the financial planners, stockbrokers, and wealthy people I know not one of them has ever mentioned to me about putting a % of my portfolio into cars. Try to buy the car right as far as money goes, drive it, enjoy it and you should be even or better if you ever want to sell it. Think about it, what are we going to be able to buy in 10 yrs for 20k or less? A used Hyundai? I see the C3's 80/81/82's going for the same price as a ZR1. What are you getting with that? maybe 175hp, sh*t brakes and an 85mph speedo. No disrespect to my C3 brothers. I love the style of it, just not the perf. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Ask the guy you are considering buying it from how it worked out for him as an investment.

If you want a Z that will hold value, get a '95 or at least a '93 or later (405HP).

Whether or not that car is an investment depends on the price you pay! If you can get it for say,,,,,$1,000.00. Then it is a GOOD investment. You can always sell it for more than you paid for it.

If you are paying top dollar and hoping for a good return, I think not.
