The best I recall on my '90 the receiver was above a bracket that needed to be removed to get to it. There were two nuts (1) left and (1) right on a bracket that is maybe 4" wide, 7" long and might have had a curved corner towards the passenger compartment.

See if this link will help you. It's pretty much the "appearance"!

I think the part you are looking for is under the passenger side cargo area .

Here's another image that isn't near as complicated. It's right where you're looking you just need to get the bracket #12 in this illustration out of the way!

Chris,

NO...NO...NO

The car is a '91 and it's where I've directed him to! He's for sure in the correct area, under right most side of dash. Late(very) '93 and later it's in the storage compartment. I've never seen a '93 in the storage area but I hear that there are cars out there!

I found the box, couldnt see it because of the flat bracket. Now,will this bracket move far enough out of the way to get the controller out?I can honestly say that this has got to be the biggest BULL$HIT job Ive ever worked on.Thanks for all the help here guys.

I believe there's only the two nuts holding the bracket and the receiver module. Remove the nuts and the harness connectors to the receiver, the antenna and you're likely to have it in your hands and on the floor. I believe there's connectors on both sides of the box.

You've nearly "got it"!!!

Typical C4 stereo problems, the amps will be the next thing to go if your not already replacing them.
