What just happened at the auction? Warren Johnsons pro stock car only bid to $87,000, his fellow x racer Joe Amato put in a last minute bid of $90,000 and immediately the aution stopped without trying to get the bidding any higher. Looked awful suspicious to me. I bet the car is going right back to Warren Johnson.

you saw that too!!!!! that is just smelley to me . as well as a bunch of other stuff that just didnt seem right from wed on . some cars go for nothing .sure makes one wonder . i am glad i only go to russo and steele. everything is slower and more controlled . also cars can have a reserve which protects against people grouping up to get a car for nothing . if it doesnt meet the reserve all it costs is 1500. i bet that there are a few sellers that wish that was all they lost . sure glad i dont want the limelight of that place

Warren does not own that car so it cant go "back" to him. A guy named Norm Bierhorst ran it in Super Gas and decided to restore it with some help and old parts P/S parts Warren still had. At least that is what NHRA.com said. Besides, they probably did not have $90K in the car so why would they try to buy it back? It is possible to find an old "big name" Pro Stock rolling chassis that has been running in Comp Eliminator or Super Gas for several years for around $25K and the rest of the parts did not come to the remaining $65K. Just my take on it.

What a beauty... The buyer will get the first production sold to the public with one of paint job; Le Mans Blue..
Sold for a cool $1000000. All profit goes to United Way.

Talk about flakey....the hammer actually dropped, the vehicle declared sold @$220K on a vehicle this morning. They were showing the "happy bidder " that won at that price. The next thing you see is the auctioner (Spanky Laciter, I think that's his name)) reopening the bidding on the sold vehicle. He than ran it up to $250K then hammered it sold at the higher price. WTF???
