440 ci LT5
The 440 ci LT5 (Whitey) is alive and well in Addison Illinois. The 440 (4.125 X 4.125) inch engine with stage 3+ cam's were assembled by Marc Haibeck. Marc did a fantastic job assembling the engine. The block itself is super strong and was beefed up to support the big liners. The engine runs very well and both Marc and myself are happy with the results. He also did quite a few other things to the car to get the car near perfection. I will follow up with more information as it becomes available.

Hey Frank!
WTG for underwriting such a project. Kudos to both you and Marc for the apparent success. Can't wait to see results data and hear seat 'o pants impression.

Awesome Frank! I was wondering when you were going to give us the good news! Can't wait to hear that bad boy and see some numbers.

i don't know if your rounding off for some reason & i'm not trying to be a know it all but 4.125" x 4.125" is 441 cube. i'm an engine builder but that's an easy one due to the fact my personal engine is a 441. little over 800 H.P. on pump gas naturally asperated.

my own 441 is just small block based not LT-5. if i was doing an LT-5 i wouldn't stop at 441 i can tell you that. if you have 4-valve per cyl. heads with that much potential might as well take advantage IMO. i'm not sure exactly how much real wheel h.p. i make, the one time we tried i'd get over 600 h.p. & it just kept spinning the tires (slicks) on the rollers. not sure why? we thought at the time it had something to do with the I.R.S. & not being able to strap it down tight enough. lots of guys make way more power than that & don't have any problem staying hooked up so i can't what the deal was there exactly? but you're probably in the ball park at 680ish.

oh i can build it that's not a problem. but there's not a ton of those cars around my area to be playing with if you know what i mean. i've said to people around here i'm not interested in opening up one of mine unless something goes south, then all bets are off ha, ha. i'm plenty busy for the next six months or so anyways so to be actively looking for someone to step up with a project is not high on my radar screen. when i do get after one it will be a little bigger than 441 though, customer permitting of coarse. i'm generally not into following, i like to make my own way. i should work out what the compression ratio would be on something like that, as you go up in cubes the C/R goes up automatically, never a bad problem to deal with, better than the other way.
