Really looking into getting a ZR1 !! Need help
Well I have always wanted a ZR1 since I new what a car was when I was a 4yo. Flash forward now Im 21 and have a Heads/cam 06 GTO thats almost paid off and now I want think about getting my dream car. A black/black 93 Z . What problems do they have? What are some very good boltons? What shops deal with them? If I do full boltons vs a bolton C5Z how close? Thanks for any help guys. I tried searching but google wasn,t responding well

First of all you have good taste. Second of all the LT5 is nothing like any other corvette engine ever made. And there are only about 4 guys in the country that are really qualified to even touch one that will need anything serious done to it. And if you own one you will become a bit of an expert like most of the owners on this site. As far as bolt on mods it's really just a matter of modifying whats already there. Sure you can bolt on headers and a cold air intake. But the rest of it is opening intake ports and injector housings. Breathability and fuel delivery. Those are the tickets. And when you do have a problem you don't have to worry about being left in the dark on this site. Most of the members on this site work on there own cars and would be glad to help.

Thanks rhipser. I am already thinking about how well these car's respond to mild cams/ported heads/and port matching the intake mani runner to the heads. I love all motor power and the LS2 has spoiled me But I only take the goat to around 6600-6700 since its a 2v motor. I can,t wait to go to around 7000 with a built valvetrain. What good site's have parts for them? Thanks for your hospitality and I can't wait to hear from the other ZR1 owners

Cams are not a "bolt on" mod on these cars, and are neither common nor cheap. It's not like a pushrod motor at all in that regard.
Also, you said you have a heads/cam GTO. I don't know if you consider those bolt-on or not. But with the LT5, there aren't head choices, intake choices, or even header choices. There is stock, or ported stock. Headers, there is one company making them currently.
You might check out this page to get an idea of the normal/standard mods and what they do on average: http://zr1specialist.com/HAT%20Web/p...20upgrades.htm
All I'm saying is don't expect the LT5 to be as cheap to mod as an LSx. It isn't.

All you gotta do to these things is port the intake, headers . Do the heads (porting) even better . Tossa gear and a tune at it and youll outrun most of what you come across out there on stock cams and bottom end. No need for cams on a stock bottom end anyway.
Couple guys here just on a ported intake, headers and a gear running low 12s/high 11s st 117-120mph with all the rest stock..Not bad.
Best part is it looks absolutely stock from the outside.

Lots of guys here track and mod their cars, plenty of gearheads here.
Bottom end nothign in common with the LT1, its its own beast. Its the Daddy to your LSx's bottom end.
