Default Corey has my car!!! I can't wait to get it back.

It's in line to get headers / tune. It made 368 rwhp before with B&B cat-back, chip, cut lid and relocated temp sensor. Corey is installing the headers, x pipe, hi-flow cats then connecting to the existing B&B. I think it may be a bit on the loud side, but should sound tough as hell. With the tune we should be approaching 390 rwhp. I can't wait to get it back.

Did you have top end porting done first?

If you get 390 rwhp without a top end job that would be some kind of record I think.

93 has the 34MM ports, not as much to gain....the early stockers(90-92) have ports as small as 31MM....I have measured them on several cars prior to porting.....380-390 might be doable with a 93. My 92 makes 391rwhp with no tune and has just over 35MM ports.

I believe the 405 cars have alittle better cam timing also.

I'm waiting to see the results of this mod first. Since I have a 93, I figured this would be the bigger result as I already have the larger ports. I will probably do the plenum and injection this spring if the results aren't where I want them.

I bet you get surprised. I'll bet with Corey's tune and work you'll be closer to 400 than 390. My blue car with headers (small Watsons at the time), B&B, X-pipe, SGC tune, relocated IAT, and K&N pulled 390 SAE rwhp on Aaron's SGC dyno...and was running rich.

Car made 346rwhp (SAE) on another dyno with only IAT and B&B.

These numbers don't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe I am confused. Your 95 made 346 rwhp with B&B, (which seems very reasonable) His 93 made 368 rwhp without. So he has 22 more rwhp than your's without performance exhaust? That doesn't add up to me.

Your headers, tune and X-pipe added 44 rwhp, which is doable. Headers, exhaust and tune might be worth 40-50 rwhp. This would put the 93 at approx 410-420 rwhp without any top end port work.

Numbers make perfect sense if porting has been done.

I read it that his 368 rwhp was done with the addition of a chip and open air lid over mine. Also, he did not state the correction method of his 368 rwhp..mine was SAE corrected on a very HOT day. I think SAE is the only apples-to-apples comparison for dynos (and then still somewhat dyno dependant). FWIW, my 390 SAE rwhp was 400 STD rwhp on a fair fall day. All of mine were on dynojets. Ted

I miss read it. my bad, I read the word before out of context. Maybe these numbers are STD and then it would make sense.

Just to be clear, I know nothing about correcting the HP. Corey Dyno'd my car with the following mods, cut lid, relocated temp sensor, chip bought off ebay and Catback BB. The magic number was 368. I am hoping that with a proper tune, Headers, hi flow cats and X pipe, the number will make 390 which would be a gain of 22. Am I dreaming or am I out to lunch?

Correction done by Dyno operator. Look at your dyno sheet printout. It will have a descriptor on the hp axis (actual, SAE, STD, Corrected).

Again, I think you'll be closer to the 400 mark than 390.

Below is my black car...stock then moded with Magnaflow with x-pipe (before the SGC Stg I cammed top end)

That sounds like a great number. What do you think you would have with porting work & tune?

Good to see you're still around Rob. Maybe I can take it for a ride again after this round of mods
I'm considering picking up another vette for a DD next year/later this year. Driving yours has me thinking that a Z would work.

Hey my Robert! I pulled a good one on sherott yesterday. If you can make it then come on by for lunch tomorrow. I'll tell you about it. I'll buy. Me Robert and Ryan all went to Corey's two years ago for the gathering and all had our cars dynoed. Both Robert and Ryan have the 405 motor. My 90 with only a Borla exhaust did 342rwhp. Roberts did 368 and Ryans did 356. I did everything the opposite of what most people do. Most of you guys get an exhaust then headers then a top end port job. I did it backwards. I did my top end porting and the Fidanza flywheel but I'm still running the stock exhaust manifolds and cats. And it pulls super hard up to 8K but I'm still choking it off on the exhaust side. But Corey's making me some Jeals and bullet cats. Here's the video of all three of our cars being dyno tested that day.
My 90 Z did 342@336tq.
http://s301.photobucket.com/albums/n...ogether031.flv

Roberts did 368 with 4:10 gears.
http://s301.photobucket.com/albums/n...ogether026.flv

Ryans did 356.
http://s301.photobucket.com/albums/n...ogether032.flv

Once I get the headers on and that magic Corey tune we will see what kinda #'s the 90 will put down.
