I'm not actually doing the work. My son is in tech college, he will be doing it with a lot of help from the instructor .

Dallas, according to Marc Haibeck, you do not need to remove the tail piece. You remove the driveshaft and push the gear out the back with a coat hanger. I did just pay Marc $125 shipped for the correct gears for a 4.10 swap.

i drive fast and get 19 + on the highway. Not the 23 I used to get!

This sounds more like what I get.......19.5 MPG at 80 MPH.......I'm sure I could jump that up to about 23 MPG at 70 MPH.
