Install headers. The headers from Brian A. weigh 22 lbs less than the stock manifolds and if you remove all of the AIR stuff it all weighs 10 lbs (pump, hoses, clamps etc..) This and a sigle mass flywheel will drop a total of 57 lbs out of the car. I recently did all of this and weighed everything.
I have removed my spare tire also. My car weighs 3435 lbs with the stock wheels/street tires and 3411 lbs with the bbs wheels/kuhmo competition tires.

fyi, brian has the headers for $895 and can deliver to BG. I will be going down and will drag them back to VA for $20 (high speed overnight delivery!!!) normal shipping is $50 if you don't need them. they are a nice header!!! anytime you make more power and save weight, you are doing good things.

Thanx for the responses, unfortunetly I can't fit the headers into my budget at this time. But maybe soon. And real soon if someone buys my 86. :D

The carbon fiber hood I have is from DRM. I think that Melrose T Tops makes the hood. The hood is painted black but it would need repainting no matter what as it was scratched during transport. There is no hardware on the hood.
Thanks for the reply ZR1 :). I've been doing alot of thinking about the hood and think I'll have to pass. I think I want to get a highrise hood.

For anyone else out there who may be interested. From the prices I've seen for these hoods and other comparable hoods recently, ZR1 is offering the hood a very good price. The Melrose t-top manufactured carbon fiber hood weighs around 38lbs (with the OEM style underhood bracing which should prevent the hood shaking around from my understanding).

Correct me if I am wrong. I've heard somewhere from "them" that every 8lbs weight loss is equal to 1 hp? I have not been able to varify this.

thanks my friend. are you sure you don't need 2k HP and twin turbos to go with that 555??? with some winglets you could put that vette into orbit. or just spin the earth in the other direction and stand still to get where you are going. that car is a true monster. very impressive ride!!!

any progress on the tune??? want some help?? I think some time on the dyno is in order to see what is happening. I will be croozing to hotlanta in the zr1 this weekend, but I will be back in touch soon.

cya and thanks again for the tips.

Turbos generate to much heat for me to road race the car. Street&Drag it's a great idea. Have fun croozing to hotlanta in the zr1 this weekend.
