Default MagnaFlow fitment on ZR

I decided to modify the Magnaflow exhaust I got so that the mufflers would not hang as low as previously. Did a few mods, (thanks Al, =Jeff=) and below are some pics of the revised look. Basically, in order for the tips to be aligned with the face of the rear fascia, the muffler can itself would interfere with the rearmost chassis rail. In addtion, the muffler hangars were too high off the muffler body to allow the muffler to tuck up into the exhaust cutout. I pushed the mufflers back further, so they are currently slightly recessed into the exhaust cutout but now they tuck up nicely without the entire muffler can hanging like some herniated ricer car.
Took pics while car was getting re-aligned due to lowering of rear end

Think this looks much better.

Nice job!
What did you have before the magnaflows? And how do they sound?

Martin

PS: What about the wheels? Real Z06 or clones, what about the off set?

That looks awesome!

I think even better would be square tips. A forum member had a post awhile back for square tips that looked exactly like B&B tips - they were not cheap but looked awesome - I think the tips were about $200.

B+B 3rd Gen before the MF. The Magnaflow have a deeper tone than the BB. More mellow and no drone. However, as they get older, they get louder altho at cruise it's a mellow purrrrrr.
This system has an Xpipe with a resonator composed of 2 y's connected tail to tail. The connector is a 3" pipe.
The wheels are OEM with GY Supercar F1s. Rear uses a 18mm spacer and GM racing studs. Front offset is 40mm but the outboard portion of the tire is not noticeable unless you really lower the front end.
