A sad day for you
Wait, that's not yours is it? I thought I remembered you mentioning you were going to sell. Silly me

Interesting car. I wonder how much it would cost to repaint the engine back to the stock color and replace all of the interior pieces that had that woodgrain stuck to them?

I was thinking the same thing, but I could be way off. Maybe $1500 to do the engine right, and the rest to buy replacement interior parts, another radiator shroud to replace the yellow painted one and a black battery. Any other opinions?
BTW, I kind of like the saddle against the yellow - wasn't too sure until I saw it.
EDIT- Hmmm...Just looked at Autocheck and registration was showing 40K in March of '09 in Florida and the description and photo says 31K now in Missouri...wonder what thats about?

I guess I see the yellow additions to the original car as a bit much. It's interesting that people are now starting to view the value of these ZR-1s with these modifications in the same way that earlier Corvettes are "valued" - that being - the value of the car unchanged less the cost to undo whatever modifications added. I doubt that's what the owner figured when he made those changes.

I can't find it, but I think it was lower mileage.

Ok somethings not right. A yellow car and no comment from Zyal8tr for two days? Better check his house he might be trapped in the basement. This car's in his back yard too...I fear the worse.

Melting Slicks
From the posts, I expected to see one butt ugly car.
With the exception of the yellow shifter ****, that car actually looks fine as it is.
NCRS it isn't, but those mods, particularly the engine look well done, and not too far overboard.
The mileage issue seems like a "forgot the real number, so just write something so the transfer can be finsished". Now, I would not do it that way but who knows.
I would bet someone steals that car.
There have been more than a few cars on the forum where the owner painted the engine to match.
Not every big block mid year is an NCRS trailer queen.
Buy this one now at a deflated 2010 price; put 200,000 miles on it over the next 20 years, then restore it to NCRS if you like, and you will have had years of fun and end up with a car worth far more than you will have invested into it.
Let me be the first to congratulate the next owner!
Your new car shows well! ( minus that darn ****)

I agree....the engine painted isn't so bad, but they should've stopped at that. The rad shroud and area forward made it look overdone and cheesy as hell.

Lose the woodgrain pieces and the car would be ok. Engine looks fine, IMO.

I think it looks ok, but I agree the woodgrain is very '80s. I have never liked painted wheels, but they seem tastefully done. The engine looks good.
Also, that 4th picture down seems to show a mismatch of the body panels above the trim.

Like his hand stuck in the boiler? lol. I would chrome the wheels or paint them black. Never cared for wood grain in sports cars. Just my opinion. Would strip off wood and send in for hydrocarbon covering. Probably the cheapest way. Engine compartment doesn't bother me.

When he bought it last year the wheels were silver or chrome and I don't believe it had the wood grain.
