Default Dead coil or a failing spark controller?

Ive lost spark to number 2 and 3 cylinders so this one coil has died but my question is will a failing spark controller knock out one coil or will the controller just die all together?Ive got OEM coils in the car now that only have 5,000 miles on them.Who makes aftermarket coils,MSD?Thanks.

I suppose you could swap places with the suspected coil. If the problem (cylinders misfiring) move, then it IS a coil. If not, then there are other issues, e.g., DIS or ECM, maybe.
