Hi All:

I am replacing the transmission in my 1991 ZR-1 with an new one from ZF Doc. Is there any market for a used ZR-1 ZF that is starting to have 3rd gear synchro issues (Still drives fine and is in the car now). Is it worth anything above shipping costs (perhaps as a rebuildable trans for ZF Doc)?

One just sold on ebay that had a recent rebuild, with bellhousing and all clutch hydraulics for around $500.

kinda depends on what someone wants to pay for it.

Id be interested in it but would need to know how much you want for it

and where in VA are you, Im moving to PA in a couple of months and would be able to come down and pick it up Or my inlaws might be able to get it they are from winston salem NC.

The transmissions are very expensive to fix as syncro kits are way up there. Keep the transmission! soon these will be more difficult to find in any cond.(what are you going to do with a couple hundred dollars)

What did Bill said about your ZF? Why didn't get this one rebuilt by Bill instead of buying a new one?

I purchased a new trans and had it sent to ZF Doc for his bulletproofing (as well as replacing the input shaft) so that I did not have to be without my car during this process.

I have heard that the syncros can only be purchased as a set.. and the cost is $800

now I cannot remember if set if a pair or all gears
