Well, if you consider that the 93' weighs more and still comes that close in the 1/4, that's pretty impressive. Then consider that the extra power in the 93-95 generally means that it will have a much better top end, which is really what the ZR1 was meant to do, it's a no brainer. I have raced many 90-92 with my 93' and when you run for top end, it's no competition, and this with a car that weighs more.

With a factory power/weight ratio of 9.2 lbs/hp (3,450 / 375) for the 1990 ZR-1, a '93-95 would have to weigh 275 lbs more for the 30 extra horsepower to be offset by weight gain.

I think it's silly to think the early cars were the fastest stock for stock.
