The guy sold the car, and I'm not too disappointed because I'm saving some of that money for a present for someone.

ZR-1s are a true bargain along with the C5 Z06.

I believe with the low production numbers on the 92-95 ZR-1s they are the next mid year big block type of rare vette.

I think prices especially for the 93 and up cars in the future will skyrocket...

He autocrossed it like this until '07 when I bought it so he could get a new Z06 which he likes better. Don't get me wrong, I love my Z, but after a few autocrosses I went back to my 400 hp '72 Corvette autocross car because it is more fun. BUT, out on the road it's a different story. The sad part is, and that was one of the complaints when they were new, unless you really know your Corvettes, it is hard to tell the difference between a ZR-1 and the standard Corvette. For what they are, most people would like a little more recognition. Then on the other hand, they make for a great sleeper!

I've been autocrossing mine for 18 years now and have no problems, even set group FTD once in a while. It's hard to believe your ZR-1 has no low end grunt with 400 RWHP and 4.09 gears. I'm completely stock and have no problems breaking the tires loose at any time in 1st gear out on the course and that's with R compound tires. I never notice the extra weight on the front end either...turn-in is fantastic, I can get the car to rotate at will, and it's beautifully balanced. When I get bored out on the track, I like to see how far out of shape I can get the car and gather it back up...it's amazing how far around the azz end comes around and it pulls out of it. It has to be the most balanced and forgiving car I've ever driven. The only thing I did was remove two 1/8" shims from each upper A-arm mounting stud and it completely changed the personality of the car. Did you try changing the alignment?

I had a '71 Coupe I autocrossed before I got the ZR-1 and I agree it was a lot of fun racing it. The C3s have very good handling actually but their handling manners are wicked. That and no ABS made for a challenging day but that's why it was so much more fun even if my ZR-1 could turn circles around it.

Yes they do, just like any other C4. In fact most everything in a ZR-1 is the same as any C4. Of course that doesn't include the engine and a few other specifics
