Default To mod or not to mod

After driving the Z for a few days, it's just too quiet.

To me, the 95's are GM history, and this car has the Dunn heads. I know now too that every dollar I put into the mods, are just basically pissed away...lol.

What I would like to do:
Headers
Port and polish
Powder coating
Haibeck chip
Corsas

Basically, the same mods I had on my Z I sold.

And, I didn't fit in the car. It's amazing the difference in room from the 91 to the 95.

Hey,

I know exactly what you are saying. I personally prefer later cars for a few reasons. However, for exact reason you pointed out, historical being the last year, I would have felt somewhat guilty if I drove the car in daily basis. For this reason I picked a 94-almost the same as 95.
Having said that, apart from powder coating, the rest of the mods you are considering are reversible or hidden.
At the end of the day, it's your car and do what makes you happy.

It's your car - do what you want.

Put some gears in it and some loud tri-flows. :-)

I'm right a 6'3" and my knees were banging against the dash with the seat down and all the way back. I fit much better in the 95.

i modded my car a lot more than what you have planned, after a few years i put it all back to stock and got a ncrs top flight. the only thing i see hurting the car would be powder coating the engine. you can't duplicate the factory powder coating. i would only re-powder coat if your engine was badly stained.

Just buy an extra plenum/ih. Really everything is reversible/bolt on.

Even if you do the port work, no one will know it anyway as its not seen.

Even powdercoating can be media blasted off and painted again.

Like everyone else is saying, pretty much everything but the powder coating is easily reversible.
I see no reason why porting would hurt collector value, it's hidden and still all stock parts.

Brandt,

"If" you had to go to NCRS, the easiest thing to do is not to Powder Coat the motor.

Everything else can be removed back to stock and or never noticed. (NCRS can't tell if you port and polish the top end).

GO FOR IT!
